Foodies and fitness CAN go together!
There is always the struggle between eating delicious food and keeping true to your version of healthy. These 3 spots are some of our fav's that have both delicious and health-conscious choices.
Righteous Foods: Organic and local ingredients, juices from our very own Juice Junkies shop, amazing smoothie and detox drinks, delicious breakfast dishes (you have to try to veggie hash, it's the best!)
Local Foods Kitchen: This deli-style cozy- feeling restaurant serves locally grown dishes. With a rotating menu of fresh seafood, salads, sandwiches, you something new to try every month and they always have great choices in their prepared meal cases too! Their Power Salad (we like doing half salad and adding chicken!) and Compost Cookie (you have to treat yourself once in a while...) are awesome!
Lettuce Cook- In the heart of the revamped 76114, Lettuce Cook has to-die for sandwiches (Try the Turks N' Durks ), salads, breakfast all-day (that's right...keep this one in mind for your next late brunch stop), and prepared meals that are BOGO 1/2 off on Saturday's. Meal prepping made easy people!
Nekter Juice Bar-Superfood galore! You can find some of the best smoothies here and more importantly, an awesome Acai bowl (trust us, we have been trying these bowls all over Fort Worth and this one wins). You can even do early online ordering to avoid lines.
The Clearfork Farmer's Market- every Saturday morning local artisans set up shop at The Trailhead right next to Press Cafe to offer products such as coffee, local honey, fruits and veggies, and so much more. This farmers market provides our Fort Worth community with high-quality locally grown products and promotes local agriculture sustainability through farmer-consumer connections.
Work Out Mix-Up
There's more than one way to work out and be active. Here are a few spots we have found to love so far.
Camp Gladiator-Several of us have hopped in on these classes around the Fort and now Camp Gladiator is offering a free month for friends of members starting January 8th (psst-they are throwing in an extra week, that's 5 weeks to try this program out!) With so many locations and motivating groups in each one, it makes it hard to miss these workouts. What you will need: a mat and weights of your choice.
Body Bar Fort Worth- Is Pilates more your style? Our very own Ashley Sartain teaches several classes at Body Bar on west 7th and two of our Burt Ladner agents have already tried tried it out and had a blast....and sore limbs for days. They use the reformer machines and offer a flexible schedule of weekly classes that very from basics to bootcamp style.
Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop-Want to try out some of their bikes and see if this might be your new favorite outdoor jive? You can RENT bikes and take them right on the Trinity Trail! If and when you decide to take the plunge and buy a bike, their staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and truly enjoy getting people excited about bike riding. (no pushy sales people here!)
Stockyards Stables-Looking for a new outdoor activity that is slightly more relaxing? Stockyards Stables offers trail rides right on the Trinity River and the historic Chisholm Trail. What better way to explore a piece of fort worth than on horseback?
Fashion Finds for the Win!
As if many of us need an excuse to buy clothes, but new activities might lead you to wanting a few new threads. New gym clothes always make it a tad easier to get up and go!
Haute N' Here -Fun leggings (Have you ever owned yoga pants with pink pineapples on them?) and gear perfect for the gym or running errands around town!
Smart Barre Camp Bowie-While teaching ballet inspired-barre classes which focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles), this shop also carries some really cute workout gear!
