Rode Guide | Live Music

What would the Stock Show and Rodeo be without a lil’ live music? During the event, there are tons of opportunities to listen to various Country and Americana artists. Below we have laid out a list of performers at the Coors Light Road House and at Billy Bob’s in the stockyards. Be sure to cross a couple of these must-sees off your list these next few weeks!

TX Whiskey

On a past visit to Firestone & Robertson distillery I caught a glimpse into how this local business has quickly found its way into the hearts (and bars) of Whiskey lovers everywhere.

Cuppa Craft Coffee, in The Fort! #MagicBeans

Okay, I’m not a coffee snob, never have been. I love coffee so much that I have honestly never paid that much attention to the taste.  All that has changed ever since I took a trip to Leah's Sweet Treats on Camp Bowie Blvd.. I had myself a cup of Cuppa Craft coffee. Now, I’m a believer.

Bentley's Hot Dogs, on Magnolia Ave. coming soon!! #76104

Meet the owners of Bentley’s, a true family business! The Crawford family has made a forever impression on my heart not just because they serve crepes and hot dogs (Heart imogio) but because as a family, they have given time, heart and soul to making this a joint effort!! Hot dogs, what an all American meal, right? Simple, but you can make it fancy like slap the word “Chicago” on it.  All I know is I love them, we love them, bring it on! Now, chew on this, crepes… Wow, a hot dog rolled in crepes and dipped in syrup or perhaps drizzled, your choice, STOP, no don’t stop! The menu creation is in motion and yes they will be serving the one and only Cuppa Craft Coffee Co. So lets meet on the patio and stay for breakfast, lunch and dinnnner!!

Taco Heads #DamnFineTacos

What do you get when you cross a former Army solider/Uber driver and the owner of a Taco Truck called Taco Heads? A car ride, some small talk or not so small talk, reference to Jacob's latest read Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely and next things next... these two are offically business partners.

Pouring Glory! A beer filling station! #76104 #SouthSide

Craft, Craft, Craft, I can't say it enough!! Craft beers, sodas, wine and food! Beer drinkers rejoice!!!! Newly renovated, a gas station inspired filling station. They will be a bonafide tap room, growler store with beer inspired food. We are so welcoming of these new concept bars and eateries, aren't we?? Yes, please! The SouthSide 1943-vintage brick 1001 Bryan building gives me the nostalgic warm and fuzzies. I am sure the beer will too. You can essentially buy a growler, fill it up, take it home and have a party "Tasters" and pints available too. I'm especially excited about this Custom Craft Soda on tap! I might never leave. Thank God plaid flannel is me real beer drinkin' cred! One other thing of note.....the developers have much more planned in our sweet little cowtown in terms of revitalization. Your property value just went up!! You're so welcome!

Why Shinjuku Station is on top of its game!!

One of my favorite sushi experiences in "The Fort" is at Shinjuku Station.  My friends and hubby's date night go-to.  Not only is the food outstanding the service is amazing. Owner operator Casey says, “we have gone through some very hard times. “I remember when we first opened and the staff and I applauding after the lunch shift.  We only sat 25% of the restaurant.” The Near Southside was not as discovered as it is now, so it was more like a hidden gem when they first opened.

Why we love Melt! #76104

This is definitely where the cool kids go to get their ice cream fix. This woman had the nerve to shove some of the most delicious intricate flavored ice creams into a waffle taco. Taco Tuesday! The concept is genius, and the flavor pairings are unexpected, complicated, and perfection in the most divine way. The mouthwatering waffle cones are fresh and house made. This shop pushes the envelope when it comes to flavor and sweet simple style. Fort Worth, consider yourselves lucky! Secret: outside their brightly painted yellow wall lies the best light in town. Where is my selfie stick??!
